What Others are Saying

Customer reviews help because you can see what others are saying about products. Another benefit is that you can see how well they are working in the hands of everyday users. An exercise bike might seem great on paper, but maybe certain features don’t work as well in practice.

We decided to look into the customer reviews to see what we can find.

Bowflex C7 Reviews

The Bowflex Bike reviews for C7 are very good. We found that most people praised the dedicated screen, how simple it was to switch between the 100 levels of magnetic resistance, the variety of apps that can be connected to, and how this bike was surprisingly quiet compared to other bikes.

Echelon EX3 Customer Reviews

Not to be outdone, the Echelon EX3 Amazon reviews are just as good. Many people are praising this bike for being highly adjustable for optimal comfort, that the magnetic resistance was fairly easy to change, and that the Echelon app was amazing. Numerous people said this was the best exercise bike they ever used.

Features

Both of these are at the top of their game, but we found that they offer different features and one might be better for you than the other. In general we think it’s a tie, but read on to see which has features that appeal to you more.

The Bowflex C7 bike offers 100 levels of magnetic resistance, which is unparalleled by most other bikes in this price range (or any other price for that matter), it also offers a dedicated 7-inch display that you don’t usually get with most bikes. It also has a media rack in case you’d prefer using your own tablet or phone.

It also comes with an adjustable seat, holders for two water bottles and dumbbells, and a JRNY membership that’s free for the first year. In general, it hits all the right marks.

The Echelon EX3 features 32 levels of magnetic resistance, but it was a little easier to switch between each level. While it doesn’t have its own display, it comes with a great tablet holder that will keep your device in place as you ride.

This is one of the most adjustable bikes as it has an adjustable seat and handlebars. If you often find it hard to get comfortable, then this might be a great feature for you. It also includes holders for water bottles.

Echelon EX3 vs Bowflex C7: Connectivity

In this section we’ll be discussing the different apps and programs that you can use with the bike. Picking the winner is a little tough here as they prioritize something different.

We found that the Bowflex bike is more about versatility. This bike allows you to connect to various cycling apps, such as Peloton, Zwift, JRNY, and more. You’ll be able to easily connect to and sync your fitness data with any of these apps. Not only that, but you can take advantage of their other features, such as JRNY coming with many routes that make it feel like you’re really riding a bike through beautiful locations.

Echelon bike EX3 only connects with the Echelon app. That might sound like a bad thing and it’s honestly not ideal if you prefer using other apps. At the same time, we found that the Echelon bike app was one of the most comprehensive fitness apps around.

It comes with thousands of videos from professional instructors. It includes tons of cycling classes along with strength training, cardio, and more. While it is an amazing app, we do wish that you could connect to other fitness apps if you wanted to.

When it comes to media, both of these allow you to easily watch Hulu, Netflix, Disney+ and more. If you’re more interested in watching movies and shows while cycling, then they’re tied in this sense.

We personally prefer Bowflex due to its versatility, but those who love the Echelon app will gravitate towards that bike.

Bowflex C7 vs Echelon EX3: Fitness Tracking

Much like with the connectivity section, this is a tie, but it really depends on how you look at it.

The fitness stats that both bikes track is virtually the same. Both of these track speed, distance, time spent riding, calories burned, and other common information. The major difference is the apps they sync with.

Bowflex has no problem sending the information to JRNY, Peloton, Zwift, and other fitness apps. However, Echelon only sends the data to the Echelon app. While you could get around this by wearing a fitness tracker (like Amazfit), that would only track some of the data.

If we were only talking about the fitness stats themselves, then this would be a tie. However, we give Bowflex the edge here because it connects with so many other apps. That being said, those who love the Echelon app will be just fine with it only working with that single app.
