Bowflex PR3000 is great with more than 50 exercise movements, including many for your chest, arms, legs, and back, but it isn’t the winner here. That honor belongs to Xceed from Bowflex. This gym offers more than 65 exercises. This lets you hit muscles that might be difficult or impossible with the PR3000.
While it’s fairly close, our Bowflex Xceed vs Bowflex PR3000 found that Xceed wins here, but PR3000 is a good competitor.
The next thing you must consider is how much resistance you’re getting. All Bowflex gyms start with the same initial amount of 210lbs Power Rods, but let’s look a little further.
Some of you might be thinking that 210 is more than enough, especially if you’re just starting out, while others might think it’s far from what they need. This is especially true for bodybuilders and those who have exercised for many years.
Most of these gyms offer upgradable fitness packs. You simply add the extra Power Rods and get more resistance. However, not all of the gyms can be upgraded to the same extent.
PR3000 can be upgraded to 310lbs, which is pretty good. Xceed can also be upgraded to 310lbs, but you can upgrade it even further to 410lbs.
This really comes down to your level of fitness and how far you want to go. Xceed lets you go further, but many people will be happy with what PR3000 offers.
Ease of Use
While both of these have somewhat different advantages, we have to say that PR3000 offers a significantly better advantage.
While all Bowflex gyms are simple to use, there’s a big difference here between Bowflex PR3000 vs Bowflex Xceed. Xceed offers a squat bar that you don’t get with PR3000. This allows you to do squats and some other exercises with ease.
However, PR3000 hits back strongly with the Quick Change System. This system configures the pulleys differently so that you don’t have to change cables when moving from bars, straps, or other accessories. All pieces are connected to the same Power Rod. This means you can transition from one exercise to another without moving the cables.
If you want to maximize your fitness, have less downtime, and make your workout time more peaceful, then you want PR3000 for its Quick Change System. This isn’t found in that many Bowflex systems. In fact, this is currently the most affordable gym that offers it.
Xceed is good, but PR3000 is far superior.
Bowflex PR3000 vs Xceed: Storage
Some home gyms fold while others stay in place. You might be wondering if either of these fold or are easier to store. They are both about the same in this regard. While neither of them fold up, we will say that they comfortably fit in most rooms and don’t require much space.
Assembling them is fairly easy, and you should have no problem moving them around if needed. It’d be nice if they folded, but we can’t say that they’re too bulky or cumbersome.
It’d be best if you have a room or space dedicated to them.
Bowflex Xceed vs PR3000: Accessories
Both of these are similar with accessories. They both come with handles and straps for your hands and ankles, which ensures that you can do most exercises with ease. However, there is one difference between them.
Xceed comes with a squat bar while PR3000 doesn’t. This is the main reason why you can do more exercises with Xceed, but the good news is that you can buy a squat bar and add it to your PR3000. It’s annoying to buy an accessory, but it’s good to know that it’s there if you want it.
They’re close, but Xceed wins here.
